Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on the 21st of September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, USA is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well in ABC's Lost television show. After her parents' divorce, she left Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first acting gig as the title character in the web-based video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, a character she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to leave the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. The actress has also appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The same character was played by Grace in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes, playing Shannon. In 2013, she was in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith who's both a star-gazer and socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan and the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father when he was an adolescent. With her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading performances in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) as well as the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in the Golden Globe Award nomination. The year 2006 was the time she had a number of commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Crazy Heart, (2009). Following that she was able to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (12). In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The most recent roles include the protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a writer and director in 2021, with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
